I'm a little confused on the question, if I udnerstand it correclty you want to use the flywheel, clutch and pressure plate from a 98 hatch on a 89 engine.
The pressure plate won't fit because the hydro trans shaft is bigger.

Actually, for b series the pressure plates are different, maybe for d trans it does not matter

He's talking about D-Series. You can use a '92-'00 flywheel/clutch/pressure plate on '89-'91 with no problems. With '88 you have to use an '89-'91 transmission because the '88 has a different number of splines. The throw out bearings and release forks are completely different between the D cable and hydro transmissions. The difference in pressure plates with D cable and hyrdo is actually the flywheel having a larger diameter. So if you use a '92-'00 flywheel you have have to use a '92-'00 clutch/pressure plate.
