Will a ZC motor fit in my car?
One of my friends has a ZC in his 91 CRX Si, he's puttin a B16 in (dont ask why??) And I have the chance to get the motor. I have an 86 CRX Si will the motor fit? If it will man.... it'll be crazy. Right now I still have the factory 1.5, with an AEM cold air, stage 3 clutch, and a full cat back, and I can keep up with a 02 Civic Si with the K20. I think the main reason is my weight though, with me in it the car weighs bout 1306 lbs.
I'm assuming it fit directly in your friend's 91, if that's the case, it won't fit in your car (easily ^^^ i.e. need different mounts). As far as I know the only other direct bolt-in options for motors for your car are the "brown-top" ZC motor (NOT the same motor as your friends'!) and the D16A1 from a 88-89 Integra.

D16A1 will not 'bolt up'. The tranny will, but a custom mount will be made for the driver side mount. Your best bet, is to get 100% of the mounts from a brown top. I beleive that's what they recommend on redpepperracing.com , a 3rd gen civic website (also 1st gen CRX).

My bad on the D16A1, I've never put one in myself but know a few other people who did and said it was easy...
listen to this guy (ludesrv).

Yea actually it does weigh 1300 lbs. I had it weighed. And yea he did know, but i dont think he could drive. OK another quetsion, why'd u call it a D15 when on the block it says E? But thnx for the help, I was hopin it would.
Oh and do u think u could show me some links to find the "brown top" ZC, All help is appreciated its my first swap so I'm pretty psyched, my F22A 90 Accord go demolished before I could do a swap.

Oh, a few people I've talked to call it a D15, and I was always confused cause like I said on the block it said E. My lil bro has an 85 Si and they are identical in looks jus minor things like the fuel tank.

if you get a "browntop" ZC, you will need to get the intake manifold and throttle body from 88-89 (not 86-87) Integra D16A1 - the "browntop" ZC EACV is not electronically controlled by the ECU and the 86-87 Integra PG7 ECU will throw a code for EACV - the D16A1/D16A6 EACV will not bolt onto the "browntop" ZC - with the ZC you need to use 86-89 Integra transmission, knuckles/hubs, axles, shift linkage and 86-87 ECU
86-87 Integra D16A1 will also bolt right in using the Integra transmission, knuckles/hubs, axles, shift linkage and ECU and it will connect right up to the Si harness, but it is only 113hp - 88-89 Integra D16A1 will bolt right in the same as 86-87, but you have to do quite a bit of wiring due to the 88-89 having electronic ignition advance, where your car has vacuum advance like 86-87 Integra

another bringing back a 6 year old thread, however, to answer your question, putting a fuel injected engine of any kind into your carbed sedan is a lot of work, with regard to the fuel system and the wiring - can it be done? yes, but not a simple swap
