Default Seat belt buckle attachment with aftermarket seats

I am about to pick up a pair of Sparco Evos with Sparco brackets tonight. Unfortunately, the Sparco brackets to not have an attachment point for the seat belt buckle.

The Wedge brackets that I had previously with my Ricardo SRDs had an attachment point for the seat belt buckle but the Sparco brackets do not. (Incidentally, the Wedge brackets appear to be of much higher quality than the Sparco ones.)

One web site that I looked at suggested buying a floor-mounted buckle from an earlier model Civic and attaching it to one of the rear seat mounting bolts. I would guess that drilling and tapping a mounting hole in the floor would also be a possibility.

I was wondering what solutions other people have come up with. (I do not have a roll cage so a harness is not yet an option.)

You might have the wrong Sparco seat brackets. When I bought the bracket for my sparco Star it didnt have a place for my seat belt buckle either. I called OG Racing and told them. The seat fit on it fine, but just no buckle attachment. He then said there was another bracket just like the one I had but with the buckle attachment. He shipped me out the right one and I sent him back the original one I got.

Might want to look into that.

PS: OG Racing customer service!

Thanks for the information, guys.

I just called Sparco and they confirmed that they produce two styles of brackets - one with the seat belt mounting tab and one without. The one with the tab is a custom order piece and takes several weeks to arrive once ordered; it is also $50 bucks more than the normal bracket.

I actually have a pair of Simpson harnesses that the seller of the seats included in the deal. However, I am a bit worried about installing them without a rollbar. How safe is the rear seat belt anchor as an attachment point?

Decided to save 30lbs by getting rid of the rear seats and another 30lbs by swtiching from the Recaros to fiberglass seats. The Recaros are 30lbs each and the Evos are 15lbs each.
