I also have the option of hookin up my ipod. the kit for the ipod hook up is like 70 dollars on ebay. but I find myself using the mp3 cds just as much... here's a link.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

I've got the Alpine CDA-9847R headunit and Alpine KCA-420i iPod connector... With this you can control your iPod with the headunit, works good. But when you have a 30gb iPod which is completely full, it may take you some time to find the song you look for

Newer Alpine models don't need the KCA-420i anymore, they got a direct cable for the iPod.

yep, i got the alpine CDE-9852 which you can buy a $30 cable for that connects the ipod directly to the HU, and control the ipod thru the alpine.
ever since i got it, i barely ever listen to my MP3 cd's.

i'll try to get some pics up soon

mayeb it just me but i love reacing for my REAL CD's. like the compression and spacing between tracks always gets fucked up... but its is nice to have my mp3 player into my deck...my pioneer has a 3.5mm input on the front of the face plate. its a DEH-P6800mp

yeah i have the Kenwood KDC-MP228 mp3/wma/cd player and i loved the mp3 part of it.. until i got my 30 gig iPod. the connector for it was like 100 at best buy and the head unit controls the ipod so no need for it to be sitting in view, so i have it ran under my console to the back (93 console with rear ash tray) so i can take the ashtray out to get take the iPod with me.

i havent listened to an mp3 cd since i got the ipod installed. i cant say the same for cds though cause if i get a new cd, i have to listen to it right away before i get a chance to upload it to my ipod

I have a JVC CD Player that plays MP3 CD's, and I have a connecter in the back that plugs into the CD changer port w/ a Y cable into my iPod. I love it

If you own an i-Pod take advantage of the MANY companies that suport the i-Pod docking connector!!!!!!

it adds more features that are really nice...
Like skipping songs, and searching by artist, title, album, playlist, etc...
and it charges the damn thing...

and u can hide the ipod in ur golve compartment or ur armrest.. where nobody can see it...

don't go for the aux port thing if u can use the docking connector...

if u can't use the docking connector.. then the aux port is the way to go...
