Why do you need a Del Sol AC bracket for b18C1 swap?
Doing the swap Friday in my EX. I read you need the Del Sol AC bracket, so I picked one up from Honda. Now, why exactly do you need this? Why won't the existing one work? Does it have something to do with the lines or something? Also, do you use the old Civic compressor or the GSR one? And after everything is in the car, do I need to do anything to the AC so I can use it, or will it just work right away? Thanks a lot.
The del sol DOHC vtec a/c bracket, used the same style civic compressor.. when you're swappin in a b series motor into your civic and you want to keep your a/c you use this bracket.. if your not keepin your a/c, and your takin it out completely then you could have used what ever a/c bracket the motor came with. when your doing your swap, you can unbolt the a/c compressor without dischargin it and tie it up out of the way... when you finish droppin in your new motor jus rebolt up the a/c compressor and bam, you don't have to recharge your a/c.. hope this helps..
