Default 94 Accord short shifter ?s.

I'm familiar with the short shifters in the 88-91 Civics, and that is the whole shift rod that attaches to the linkage. What the hell is this little piece of aluminum with the set screw that I've been seeing for the Accords?

Also, in the Civics the exhaust needed to be dropped to install the shifter. Can these things be dropped in from the interior?

Sorry about the n00b questions, but I just acquired a 94 EX and I hate the throw on the shifter. Thanks in advance.

Awesome. I would hate to crawl under the car to put on a shifter.

Thanks for the answer.
