I own a 94 del sol vtec, it sat for a year while i changed over short blocks and replaced some damaged oem stuff. Before i finish it, I tried to pull it down the block and use a friends garage...while i was steering it, my brake peddle would lightly engage but not enough to stop me, I ended up having to use my e brake to stop the car from hitting the pull vehicle...I found a tiny leak in the brake booster, would this cause this problem? or would I have to look for a collapsed like somewhere?

 

if your car isnt running, your brake booster isnt getting any help from the crankcase=no brakes.

 

but shouldnt you be able to pump up your peddle stiff while a vehicles off?

 

Even with the car off you will still have brakes, just no power assist. You will have to push much harder on the pedal. If you are applying the brakes hard and getting little or no braking there is something wrong. Fix the leaking brake booster and check all the lines and fittings too (don't forget to check your fluid level).
