Rear trailing arm offsets and differences....
This has come up a few times as far as rear trailing arms and the offset differences (between ABS, non ABS, as well as disc and drum). It seems like it was determined by some that the base arm was the same on all (as far as size and offset) and that just the spindle was differnet. Others have said that the ABS arm put the wheels farther in or out or some direction. Some say that all of the drum brake arms position the wheel different than the disc, while others say only the ABS arms put it in a different spot.
I'm trying to find out for sure what differences exist if any. My question is, how could there be any difference in offset when some integras have ABS, some don't, and the same wheels were available on both of those models (with or without). Wouldn't Honda have made the position of the wheel the same for all models? We know for sure that the mounting points don't change and the wheels are the same. I doubt there are some cars running around with a different track than others of the same body type (ie: ABS tegs vs non-abs). I'm sure I must be missing something really dumb, but if not, it seems to me that all the arms would have to position the wheel in the same spot therefor they're all interchangeable....
