Car - 1999 Civic EX

So basically, I got a complete alarm set off a 1993 Prelude VTEC for $20, I was like **** its worth it. I know I can probably hook it up (wiring wise), but the transmitter was not included. I already have the transmitter for my car (without an alarm) for unlocking / locking the doors. So do you think I have to get a prelude transmitter, or can they program my transmitter to work with the alarm? Can I program it or does the dealer have to?
