Default canister

what does the canister do?
my friend took his off for more space in the engine bay and so far his car is running good.
im planning on doing the same but i was wondering if it will be good to leave it off in the future? I really just want more space in my engine bay.

If you remove it, make sure you have it on when you do your smog test. You'll fail for a visual check. What it does, I'll let you know if you really wanna find out.

if you remove it you will automatically fail smog. its an emission requirement to have one. a charcoal canister eliminates toxic fumes. so if you take it off, you might start smellin gas..but it does look nice out of the engine bay!

Yeah, you will fail smog. I have had mine out for over a year, but I don't have to deal with smog checks anymore.
