Default Honda Challenge at Mid-Ohio a million pics...Wai Drifto and Chris F's new whip..

I was asked to come down to Mid-Ohio by Cone since he didn't want to go by himself. Andrew ended up paying the fee for the HPDE ( since him actually working to get his track time would be a miracle. ) and took to the track and did very well. This was my first NASA event and Honda Challenge was awesome to watch, and gettin to be camera bitch all weekend wasn't too bad. I have over 800 pictures and I plan to upload all of them onto Photobucket. It's going to be a long process but heres a few that are some great highlights from the weekend, enjoy. Thanks a lot for the pics Tony. It was nice hanging out with you. You wouldn't know how much I (and other racers) appreciate the photos because we are usually very busy throughout the weekend, or too physically and mentally tensed up to take pics. Thanks!

It looks good in that photo but I was sweating pebbles! The Toyos just weren't gripping with the tire pressure that I put in. I was able to save that drifto, but the lack of grip still caught up to me and sent me to the gravel trap during Sat race.

On Sunday, got some advice from talking to other HC racers and changed the tire pressure. Car felt much better and shaved almost 2 sec off. Then the motor blew....

Here's a vid of the start. To me, in about 0.25 seconds, I see (IN NO particular order!)

- Brian S (blue USTCC prelude) turns down on Colin's Grey CRX and taps him, rear bumper eventually falls off.
- Colin's CRX taps the blue Cobalt towards the Saturn. Cobalt is damaged enough to quit race.
- Saturn wagon jumps left, away from the Cobalt and into Jason's side which slams against the wall, and Jason bounces back and forth between Saturn and Wall a couple times. Jason is damaged enough to barely get out of turn 1. Saturn is damaged enough to park it immediately too with massive tire rub.
- The wall did not move. It held it's line.

Highest Q MPEG2, 18 MB:

Medium Q 2 MB:
http://media.putfile.com/Aug-2...essed

Edit: OK, I watched it another 2 dozen times. Saturn spooks first, jumps into Jason, and maybe causes the Cobalt to pinch up a little bit. Brian S also turns down a bit, and Colin gets a tough break from a low percentage move

I hate to say it, but again, this ALL could have been avoided if the HC would have been intermingled with the USTCC based solely on times. Those USTCC cars, with the exception of the well-prepped Cobalt, had NO business being in front of me on the grid. How can I say that? Because the closest time to mine was 1.5 seconds off

Sucks, Jason

Sounds like a rough weekend all around, I was waiting for a description of the start after seeing rumblings here and 'there.'

Is there a chance someone can host it somewhere with a direct link (right-click, save as)?

I can host fairly large files with virtually unlimited bandwidth, but they cannot have extensions like WMV and MPG. It would have to be a ZIP file like this: http://members.aol.com/georgek...p.zip

The WMV file is inside the ZIP file.

You'd have to figure out a way to get me the file, of course.

Testing for any bandwidth restrictions by putting the file in GDD.

If you can figure out how to get me your Hi-Res file, I will host it the same way.

Can we transfer a file that big via AIM/AOL file transfer?

Yeah, when I get home tonight. It's not that horribly big anyway, but it was getting to be midnight and wtdr timed out in the middle of an upload, so I tossed it on putfile and went to sleep.

I just looked at my in-car, didn't catch any of the incidents between Jason and the Saturn.

All I saw was that all the sudden there's a large open gap in front of me and I filled it in right away. Even passed Chris F and Kelsey in their H1 cars when they got caught up by the incident.

What's a BB6? Oh, probably the chassis code...

I owned it for all of about 3 hours and completely annihilated the passenger side

Chris, still learning about Preludes... Wacky suspension.

The problem is that Corey was really never comfortable going through a corner unless he was going through it sideways. He is very comfortable with oversteer and drifting and, quite frankly, I think he has won some of his races just because he scares the hell out of the people behind him and they don't want to get close to him.
