Diff b/w 91 CRX si front/rear Rotors??
FYI, I am a complete noob to having rear disc as I have only owned cars which have had rear drums (EK, EM2...). What I am wondering is what is the general difference b/w front and rotors on Crx si's? I have visually inspected them and they look the same. However, as I know from prev Honda's, sometimes things make look similar but they are definately not the same. The reason why am asking is b/c there seems to be a huge price difference b/w front and rear rotors.
Thank u in advance...pls keep the flaming to a min as u are only wasting h-t's webspace

I think that I need new glasses or the ricer who owned my CRX b4 me was running front rotors all around! I guess that would explain why the rear rotors did not have any mounting screws holding them on to the hubs! Meh! I only paid $445 USD for my near mint body (rustwise).
PLans include:
KVR front slotted rotors
Z6/A6 Mini me swap (included w/ the z6 tranny I needed for my EK)
JDM EF Sidemarkers
CTR Shifter boot
JDM SIR rear spoiler
USDM Si front lip
JDM 5zigen catback
Maybe DC header

Those 'mounting screws' are for the assembly line only. They simply hold the rotor on the hub when the car is going thru the assembly line. They are not needed after the first brake job, and quite frankly, they are a pain in the *** to take out. I ALWAYS leave them out

Got any pics of the front and rear brakes? Maybe the previous owner bought an aftermarket big brake kit for it?

the front rotors are thicker and have vent in the center while the rears are a solid metal with no vent.
they should both be 9.44" in diameter

Now that I have read 90civichbsi's it is quite apparent that my original inclination was correct...this person just used (forcibly) front rotors on the rear! This will be corrected asap! meh...I replace pads and rotors on every used car I buy...I just dont trust them.

is this true? anybody else have any input?

Think about the wheel, brake rotor, and hub. The "hat" of the rotor has two little teeny holes in it with two little teeny screws that thread into the hub. The wheel sandwiches the hat between it and the hub, with four great big studs and nuts to hold it tight.
Does it sound like any of those fasteners are un-needed? It sounds like two of them are, to me...

I don't believe it, the front rotors would not fit on the rear disc component.

ive seen some ppl use some kind of bracket to offset the rear caliper further out in order to use a larger rotor in the rear. but the rear pad is the same, so it doesnt cover the whole rotor surface.... just the outer radius.

Please take pics because I guarantee you they didn't come like that from the factory. Someone before you did something to the brakes.
