Stock SOHC D16Z6, GT30R Epic turbo kit, Evans tuned 375WHP!
We have been running a turbocharged stock D16Z6 in our '91 Si hatch for about a year and half now. It had a GT28RS running 10psi making 258WHP. We turned it up to 17psi and made 308WHP. At this power level the car ran 11.88@ 117 mph. After 100+ successful passes at the 250+ HP level we decided to turn it up some more and find out what the limits of this engine are. The GT28RS was out of airflow at the 300+ HP level. Turning up past 17psi didn't net much gain. We put on our divided T3 top mount and a GT3076R with divided housing. I figured we would see 330-350WHP before the rods let go but that wasn't the case. The engine made 375WHP @ 23psi and survived a spike of 29psi making 420WHP. How long will it last? We have to wait and see. Its pulls like a monster on the street and we will have some track times soon.

Um...this is wrong.
Wow....this is like defying gravity; you just dont do it, you cant. Amazing. Props for pushing the limits of a d-series. Just goes to show you how well honda's are put together from the factory.

crazy looking manifold
**edit** this is a completely stock motor?

It is a totally stock 110,000 mile bottom end and head. Its mods are ARP headstuds, a D16Y8 manifold and a B16 throttle body.

wow. that is F'in sick man. that manifold looks real good too. do you have any over heating problems with the DP being so close to the radiator? car daily driven?
amazing
the manifold looks quality as well, good job! what suspension are you running? did you have to use any spacers to get the lenso/slick combo to work? what size slick do you use as well?

I still can't believe that this car is not built.
Are you sure that the previous owner didn't install some rods or something? I have a REALLY hard time believing that those stock toothpicks can handle that much power.

The motor is not built. The previous owner, correct me if I am wrong Craig, was a little old lady. I highly doubt she was concerned with how well those toothpicks would hold up.

There have been no over heating problems. The car is street driven but not everyday. On these pulls it did drive to and from the Evans Tuning dyno which is about 20 min. from our shop.

The suspension is KYB AGX shocks and Skunk2 springs. The tires are M/T 24.5x8x13. They fit without spacers but we did have to trim the fenders about 3/4".<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Unsivil_audio »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">This motor must've been blessed by the pope.
No but seriously, how much does the mani run? (Cost wise)</TD></TR></TABLE>
PM me about the manifold.

Thats insane!!
Was this on pump gas?? 93 octane, 94?!? Just curious. But man this gives me hope for my set up, my only concern was the stock sleeves. I guess this proves that that sleeves are alright. Let us know how long she survives.
