has any new information surfaced about the 7th gen accord??

 

im pretty sure the 4 cylinder 7th gen will have the i-vtec motor from the new crv.

as for the v6, i keep hearing bad news that honda might keep the regular 200 hp v6 but offer a 5-spd. they will keep the 6-spd for acura(as usual).

the accord coupe is the prelude replacement so that might get a better engine. who knows, you'll find out for sure in september 2003 .

 

the 200hp engine is doubtful. One of the CEOs of honda called nissan out and told them that 240hp wasnt going to be enough to compete against the new accord. I doubt honda would say that and then use the current accord engine.

Honda would never EVER realease too much information to the public about their upcomming Accord or Civic. You must remember that these 2 vehicles serve as the standard for every other car in their class. They wouldnt want other companies such as toyota and nissan seeing what they are up to and building something comparable but better to hondas new stuff before honda even gets theirs to market.

 

also they want to keep selling 350,000 of the current model each year...

 

also, i will bet anyone $100 right now that the accord coupe will come in a 6-spd manual...and NOT a 5-spd manual

 

I don't think they'll make it a 6 speed. They'll make it a more powerful engine but that's about it.

 

6speeds are for acuras. I bet you $5.23 it will have a 5speed.

nobody will know about the 2003 accord until probably august if it's release date is september...just look at the civic si...there wasn't any promo's or adds about it until it finally came out and magazines basically did their reviews on the car after it was released...so honda probably won't be leaking too much about the new accord...and were all the concept drawings that keep showing up even from honda?...they don't look like it...but who knows...
