**Searched** Engine just stops abruptly..
I've been having a little smoke from the exhaust, Blue tint with some black soot. Assumed it was just running rich. When attempting to drive to work this morning my engine died while shifting into second. Pulled over and let it rest a bit. Then tried to start it and it turns over for a second then it chokes and jerks hard and bbuuugggghhh its dead. It does this over and over. I don't think its electrical, all working. Not sure about the fuel pump, but seeing as it abruptly dies i don't think the problem is there.. Any ideas???
Thanks in Advance

If the fuel pump is dead the engine will just turn over and over until your battery is dead.
What does it do now? Does it turn? Or does it click? If it clicks and the starter is fine then the engine might be seized (worst case scenario). But more then likely a blown main relay that is at the point where the car will just die...happened to me on the way to work, you gotta pull over for like 5 minutes before it will start again.

Symptom's changed a little. Ok, oil totally gone!!! News to me i sewrviced it two weeks ago. Now it's turnning over but its like its coughing out the intake. Yeah it has gas. Main relay changed about a year ago due to it dying at stop lights. Also i added oil after getting it home 3 hrs later but no luck, still in ICU..
Coughing out the intake, sounds like bad gas and or timing belt jumped a notch. When I started my EF after sitting for a year, it backfired out the intake for the first 10-20 minutes until I put fresh gas in, then it ran fine. Check your fuel filter for what might be bad gas debris, check to see how recent it is.
Servicing a car that burns oil means nothing, cause the oil goes away and gets black fast. When my D15 was on it's last leg I stopped giving it oil changes, I kept adding it, it slowed down the oil burning, and since I knew I was gonna replace it I didn't care.

Yeah last leg, i let it go for about a year.(changing it by adding) Maybe i should have kept the tradition going but i did'nt.
Flodded my dpfi with starting fluid but no help. also checked the vdc on the fuel pump(yellow/black to ground). 1.9 vdc when cranking. Does this mean a bad fuel pump or is it usualy only 2 vdc...Checking my bomb *** Chilton guide right now...

I took b16crexster's advice and pulled the Dist cap, and sure enough the rotor set screw was loose inside letting the rotor spin freely. Don't know how i was getting spark earlier must have been sparatic. $4.57 later at Kragen for some thread locker and voila, its running. Thanks to all for replying. But a special thanks to b16crexster for saving me $$$...
