Q: Will a b18B (LS) longblock fit into trunk of AVALON??
ive been lookin for a truck to borrow to go up to HMOTORS but no LUCK, so last choice it to drive up there with an Toyota Avalon 95 and hopefully put the motor into the trunk. wondering what u guys think.. will it fit and not get damaged somehow? HMotors is insisting on me not bringing an avalon b/c they can get the motor in there, but they said might damaged sensors, or how am i gonna take it out. if i remember , ls longblock should weigh around 300-400 pounds? ive carried one with 2 other friends before off a truck, but thtas cause we kinda juss slid it off and then carried it. im just afraid if we put it in avalon how we going to lift it out without damaging anything or what should i do.. split the head and block into 2 pieces? sorry i cant afford to get this motor shpped so gonna have to drive there an dpick it up.. also if i do put this motor into the trunk, which way should i face it or how should i fasten / secure it w/o damaging anything.?

Rent a truck if u have to. Last resort, go to U-haul and get one. They're not that much and you're gonna spend more money if you break something on the engine or in your Avalon. It's gonna be a pain in the *** getting it in and out of you Toyota.
seeing as my B18C1 is currently sitting in my kitchen on a lift, we ripped the engine w/ the tranny still on it outta my car, BIG MISTAKE.. it took 6 people.. so, rip it apart in as many pieces as possible, and wedge it in good. make sure it doesnt roll around.

that actually might work... if you take out the passenger seat...
also maybe one of those lil racks that go on the back of a car that are for like a single ATV.
if not last resort would be spittle the head and the block then it should fit in the trunk pretty easily but still might cause damage to your trunk

Dude me and my buddy picked up a GSR (yes with a heavy ricer vtec head) off a bed of a lifted truck, yes it was ******* heavy as expletive but we did it.
p.s. the motor wont fit in that trunk, the tranny, intake and exhaust manifold will get in the way. Your suggestion is ****** gangster as hell
p.s.s. Yes split up the head and block and let all of the fluids get everywhere and just make a huge dirty oily mess yuck!

iono if you can read or anything, he he say longblock, and yes it will fit.. either way a truck will be easier for you to get it out, but avalon you still can get it out, is done before in an integra hatch, but best way is engine hoist.

yeah i know it can fit in back of integra. or taking out passenger seat of integra nad it will fit. but iono 4 hour + driving.. maybe even hit traffic.. gotta take alot of breaks then if i drive my car..

Dont listen to these guys It will fit. Hell when I had my 94 prelude I put a Nissan 240 Ka24de motor in the trunk and tie the trunk lid down and drove it home, then I used a cherry picker to get it out not hard at all and we didnt damage anything. My buddy put a B20Z in his hatchback and drove it home, my other buddy put a B18B in his trunk of his civic coupe and tie the trunk down with ropes and all of these were long block

Gut the avalon FTW</TD></TR></TABLE>
thing is i dont think the rear seats can fold down.. hmm let me take pics of it.. maybe i will gut out the rear of avalon.. lol

*edit added pics of trunk.. still wondering if it can fit.. if someone could give me like a LxWxH of the approximate area an LS motor would be ( i can remove the intake manifold / exhaust manifold no prob ) thanks.

i'd say don't do it...first the floor board will not hold up. if anything just get a rental truck for a day..it'll only coast like 20 bucks plus gas and mileage...in all probably coast you like 100 bucks. but it's alot safer then taking it in that avalon.
if you are going alone and you have to take the avalon, you could take out the passenger seat and put it there. ive seen it done many times. even in smaller cars. just a suggestion haha.
