For H2:

Sat, I was holding the H2 lead with 3 laps to go (only 2 in class anyway), but ended up in the gravel trap and sat there until the race ended.

Sun, I was hauling for the sure win being the only H2 car in the group. But the motor took a dump with 3 laps to go and #4 rod shot a hole in the block. Cause is still unknown. It was a brand new shortblock from Acura with 6 races + Expo only......... need to take a break now.

 

Wow .. so pretty much everyone had a great weekend it sounds like.

Yeah, he's fine, car might need a couple quarter panels. He got run down into the wall hard by a Saturn that wasn't looking.

I agree with others regarding the "home track advantage". I left a ton of time out on the track this weekend, especially after finally figuring the Toyos out. I fully expect H1 to be in the 1:40s at the Nats.

I have some outside video that I took of turns 6, 7, 8 on Sunday that I will try to upload shortly. No photos or anything else, I had an ultra crappy weekend as well.

Tremendous thanks go out to Wai and his wife Jessica for giving me a ride back home. I'd most likely still be in Ohio if it weren't for you guys, I sincerely appreciate the help. Sucks about the block though *cough k-swap h1 cough*

You are very likely right. The H1 lap record is a sitting duck waiting for someone to lop 2-3 seconds off of it.

As soon as I get an estimate that's LESS than the purchase price, I'll let you know. 95% of the damage happened on Friday, and I was still able to make the next practice session. Passenger side is ugly, that's all.

Honestly, that's not going to be hard. I really believe that. It was my first weekend on Toyos in over three years and I can honestly say that I believe we'll be in the 1:40s come next month.

Seriously, I do feel for you WC H4 folks. You're going to have an interesting time with the MW H4 guys. They're friggin' fast.

Colin is first name Botha is his last and he's been around for years. I think he doesn't use or maybe doesn't have any brakes to save weight Serious the only place he probably uses his brakes is the bake straight. Does anyone have video following him? I couldn't catch up to him and I have a slow H1 car.

I had a good time though, Sorry to hear about everyone’s misfortunes. I had an inner axle joint (I believe) go with 3 laps to go in Sunday's race pretty much sucked because I thought I was doing ok. They were brand new Raxles too before this weekend. Oh well I will see everyone at Nationals I will be the back marker in H1 and maybe some other classes too.

 

Its fun watching Colin around the track, he's fast as hell and a very aggressive driver. He's in some of the video clips I took chasing Kevin Helms around on Sunday's race.

 

It was a crazy weekend...I was a camera bitch all weekend (too poor and bald tires prevented me from bringing my R down for some HPDE action) and I have a thread up in the R forum. I'm looking forward to seeing Jason and everybody I met at this event again at nationals, camera in hand...

there are a few WC people who have driven the track this year, and laid down some fast time, i wouldn't fee to bad, as im putting odds on at least 2 WC'ers in the top 3, and one in number one.
