Default How Reliable is an LS/VTEC set up? What #'s can i expect?

I was thinking of getting rid of my hybrid hatch, and getting a '96 4-door TEG SE with leather and sunroof. Of course i want a little power out of it and might want to do a LS/VTEC setup. How reliable would that setup be? I won't take it to the track like i do with my hatch, i just need some highway passing power, and of course a little boot here and there but that's about it. I'll transfer some of my parts from my hatch over as well, such as the SPOON flywheel, JDM 4.785 FD, type-r cams etc. Also what dyno figures can i expect with this setup, and i was also thinking of using CTR pistons with B16A head. Anyone have any ideas or have a similar setup? Thanks guys

cheers

It all depends on who builds it. Make sure you do your homework on LS/Vtecs. Lots of bad and good experiences. I myself was in the same shoes as you 3 yrs ago. Tired of my hybrid ef and got a ls sedan. Built mine properly and has been running well for over 2 years.

Trust me; once you get punked on you will be doing more to it.. and yes you will take ur car to the track as well..cause ur itching to find out how fast your car is.
But overall I am happy to have comfort and some speed..

Why not just buy a GSR sedan?

Or if you end up getting the LS sedan, swap motors with the hatch.

No Gs-R sedan here in Canada... SUCKS ... "EH"???
And i can't swap the motors, cause someone wants to buy the hatch WITH the gs-r motor and R tranny, plus i need the money from my hatch to buy the TEG, sucks guy.

B18Bvtec4drteg: What setup do you have and do you have any dyno #'s or 1/4 mile times??
Well yes you're right, i will bring the car to the Drag strip to time it, but i don't think i will take it to the track to road race.
