Default 1998 Honda Civic Ex - Trouble starting when cold?

So my civic has a hard time starting when its cold. It turns over but after about 4-5 seconds of turning over i'll stop, and as i stop it stumbles to a start. Sometimes i will hear a pop before it starts. As soon as the engine is warm it start perfectly.

My only guess is that the coolant or air tempurature sensor is broken so the engine computer thinks the engine is hot, therefore not giving as much fuel to get it started.

What do you guys think? Would that be a good place to start looking?

BTW the engine is not modified with exception to a K&N filter.

Thanks in advance!!

try cleaning your FITV (fast idle thermo valve) or check your battery

Hmmm....plugs, cap and rotor would be my first stops. Then on to the fuel filter. Possible main fuel relay, too.
