Default Gasket question

Do I need a gasket/o-ring between the carsound cat and stock R exhaust? I purchased an OEM O-ring gasket from Acura but it was too small, so currently I just install the cat to the exhaust without a gasket. If I need one, what size do I need to get? where can I get one? what's the part number? Thanks

You've got the 2.5 inch carsound cat right? Get a standard 2.5 inch exhaust gasket or buy some material and cut one yourself. If you're lazy or don't know where to start I'm sure you can get a local muffler shop to put one in for you for about 10 bucks.

Just curious...

Connector donut goes at the end of the header and o-ring/gasket goes between cat and exhaust...right? Do I need to replace both every time I take them off?

I wouln't think you would need to replace the gasket, but the donut on my car turned to goo after a few months so I'm sure if I take it off I'll need a new one.

Yes the donut goes at the end of the header. And you can use a gasket between the catalytic converter and the B pipe of the exhaust but at worst you can use some high temp. caulking to seal the joint.
And no you don't need to change them each time you take the exhaust system apart. If the gaskets are good you can reuse them

Just as an information, you should not use the term "o" ring for any gasket on the exhaust system.
