H22 clutch/master cylinder issue------PLEASE HELP!!!!!
I just bought a 1997 cl with H22 swap. when coming to stop signs in 2nd or 1st, the car would die even with the clutch all the way 2 the floor, the engagement was super low and sometimes none at all. moving the shifter became difficult as well. the seller of the car said it's the master cylinder but i checked that and its full(not leaking). I then wondered if the clutch was bad but seller said its a 1yr old exedy clutch and fidanza flywheel and he insists that its the master cylinder. Car is at a shop right now(couldnt even drive it home
) Please help b4 I get raped at the shop for putting in a new clutch if all I need to do is replace the master and or slave cylinder. THANKS everyone

It could be your master cyl or Slave cyl.. it could be either or both.. by the way you discribed it i doubt its the clutch.. a good test is put it in 5th gear at about 30mph and open it up to WOT if your speed stays the same and your rpms go up thats a slip and a good chance you need a new clutch.
it could be master and slave. start cheap and go from there. bleed the master and slave cylinder. if problem persists, replace. if you still have problem it could be either pressure plate, clutch plate (possible loose or missing spring) or in my case, a tab had broken off the throwout bearing causing a very low sometimes non existant clutch engagement.
did you use an exedy throwout bearing when you installed the clutch? have you been hard on the clutch?

THANX fellas. I just bought the car and the clutch supposedly has been in for only a year and yes full exedy clutch kit was used. When i test drove the car i did mash on it and did the 5th gear slip test and it did NOT slip so hopefully the master and slave cylinder replacement solves it. THANX AGAIN
