Anyone happen to read the NEW Turbo Magazine?H22A FRM Misprint?!
September issue with the Twin Turbo NSX on the cover
Theyre doing a Budget F20C stoker in there with K24 and H22A parts.
They state in the article that 92-95 H22As didn't have FRM sleeves, but in fact had iron sleeves. FRM didn't start until 96+. I don't know it all, but this sounds wrong to me. I thought it was the F series motors that had iron sleeves. How did 92-95 H22A's have Iron sleeves when the H22A didn't hit stateside until 93? This part I can overlook because in 92, the H22A was offered outside the US. The 1996 H22A did come teamed up with OBD2, but to my knowledge was still using the same Closed Deck deisgn of the previous years dubbed the H22A1.
Is this just Plain and Simple wrong info??? I really wish it wasn't, and The Truth was that ALL closed deck H22A's were iron sleeved, and the 97-01 H22A4 open-deck was changed to FRM.
All in all, I guess its pretty cool to know H22A and K24 parts can make a Budget F20C stroker for our RWD little brother!
THIS DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IRON TO ME!!!

If they said that, they are wrong. All H-series had FRM sleeves.
That being said, i really hate Turbo Magazine. It seems like all they have are advertisements. Even the articles are really just advertisements.
Maybe its just the way i read it.

You mean advertising 15hp/$100 "Honda D series Intake" ???<--On cover!
I grabbed this issue fast on my way out of the store, that^^^ is what sold me on the issue without my normal flip-through. I come to find out it involved an intake, exhaust, and D16y8 Intake Manifold on a D15y7 motor!!!
I usually just grab it to check out the new turbo tech every few months. The Twin turbo NSX on the cover sold me on it too.

I wish there was a way to buy Non-Ad magazines for more money.
This is why Consumer Reports is the only magazine I trust.....
