OT: Anyone see the TODA RSX-S in SCC this month?
They've got a set of thier new cams in but they wouldn't let SCC dyno test it because they're still a prototype cam.
I just got it last night so I haven't been to the restroom enough times to read the whole article yet
, but it outran all the other NA RSXs by a good margin. Looked nice to, they did a Type R looking conversion to the car.

Same thing goes for the HKS turbo RSX in Super Street. They tell you all about it, but don't tell you want it puts out because it is still a prototype.
Yeah kind of sucks, I wanted numbers. It did put down some killer numbers on the slalom and skidpad with the Fightex suspension though. I think it got .95g and something like 74mph in the slalom.

...how do they perform those tests, btw? I mean, what is the turn they use to measure g's, and how far apart are the cones for the slalom?
They had an article a few months back on how they conduct thier tests. I forgot the specifics though.
Is it the same RSX that was in the Comptech Booth at IAS? The one that Comptech was shown off was nice to me. Espeically, the Toda FX suspension!
I want those next!

the test they did was back in January...I can't believe it took them till the June issue to get it printed...I guarantee you that none of those cars are exactly the same anymore
The new RevSpeed tested the new DC5 carbon fibre intake (made by K&N Japan/Gruppe M); it gained 11ps over the stock intake...noticeable gains from 6200-8200rpm
I read the entire section on all the cars and I can say that I liked the GReddy RSX as well as the TODA. What I was not impressed with was all of their handling numbers. It seems that some of them actually lost a bit when their suspensions were modified. Granted this was because it was just a set of springs that were installed and not a spring/shock combo. Yet, I still feel like these numbers do not compare to the current R. I figured that the car, with an upgraded suspension, would have at least came close, if not beat the current R. I'm just a bit disappointed in their performance. I will say that the TODA RSX with its DC5 R theme looked very nice.
Hopefully the DC5 R we (hopefully) get will post better suspension numbers than the rsx's tested.

how sure are you on that 74mph through the slalom, the new lamborghini and m3gtr race car can only muster 65 mph. maybe theyre testing them on different types of slaloms though, oh well
Also, skid pad and slalom aren't the be all end all statistics on a cars handling either, they're just a decent indicator.
I wish the King Motorsports would have had their RSX there! I am sure that we will see a million more comparision test maybe they will make it to the next one
Albino-who saw Kings RSX first hand and think it was beutiful

well GReddy's showed wose handling numbers... but they were the fastest. Why? They focused on the engine and slapped on some wheels probably with more emphasis on launch traction than handling (if they even put that kinda thought into it) and the coilovers were also just tossed on, probably for looks. GReddy doesnt do suspension... c'mon man!
woulda been nice to see the HKS one... apparently that wasnt ready for numbers testing. SS one had no specs at all. Also, I wish the Jackson Racing one was ready... but that is FAR FAR from being done. Its gonna be intercooled which is why I am so interested.
