Default DC5 oil filter

So when I bought my car the dealership told me that if I dont use a Honda oil filter it WILL void my warranty due to the fact that it is a high capicity, and micron filtration filter that is far surperior to all others. Is this true, or even legal? I have had neumerous people that have a vast knowledge in the field tell me that it is a 100% lie. I am just looking for a few more opnions, and some reassurement.

No, its not true or legal. Use whatever oil filter you want, with proper maintenance intervals I don't believe it makes enough of a difference to matter.

The problem is you went to the stealership where they'll try to tell you anything to get your money. They want you to go back to them for the oil change so they can charge you up the *** for it. Just buy the Honda filter, it's a good one. Buy your own oil, jack up your car and do your own oil change.
