A local gold wing club had a moonlight poker run on Saturday night. And actually for a gold wing club it had to be some of the best twisties I've ridden in awhile. Given we were riding in a group of 4. (me. my buddy on his GSXR, his dad on his gold wing, and another couple on a gold wing) We couldn't hit the corners very fast. But it was a ton of fun. Probably 250+ Bikes. Got to see some gold wing floor board scraping which is pretty cool. I didn't get to stop and take any pics. It was 15 bucks and they gave away a ton of door prizes and some cash at the end. I'd say I'll defiantly do it again, but I think next time I'll get some of the other sport bike guys together and leave in a group of our own.

guess the goldwing guys have a differerent goal than the Harley guys.

My point of reference is my boss and the Hells Angels, at least the chapter he is involved in. Also the majority of the riders at the local annual biker rally. I know that not all Harley riders are drunks, but the ones that make the appearance most know usually are.

if by not always you mean only 99.99% of the time it is the goal, then yes you are correct.

it depends on your definition, but seriously, they do socialize a lot but its not the only thing they do.

 

that sounds pretty cool. i think we have those poker runs occasionally up here in WA.

 

i've been to a few of these poker runs, never have any of them made the point drinking and riding. Weather it's harley riders or sport bike riders most of them are jst there for the ride and a chance to win a few prises.

where are you from? i have yet to see/meet a Hells Angels chapter that socializes with normal people. out here in SoCal they're known to start trouble and run organized crime rings.

norcal, the reason I know about them is that my gfs dad/boss is a member and has meets at his house.....

The Angels, and any other other 1% club, is about organized crime first and foremost. Do not expletive with them. Be aware, also, that not just anybody that wears a patch on their back is part of the Hells Angels. There are plenty of social biker clubs, like the Nam Knights, whgo exist mostly to get together and ride who are NOT like the Angels.

Yes, they get together and socialize. Clubs tend to do that. Lots of civilians often get into their parties, too. Just because you see them being friendly and having a good time does not mean that that's what they're about. Tread carefully.

 

We have poker runs here in p.c.b.


They are lots of fun mainly because its like a race...there's so many different ways to get to each place...usually I tend to be last.

and yeah.. ive been on poker runs on bikes/ snowmobiles (we have the most runs on snowmobiles) and fourwheelers! we're pritty bored up here in Maine.
