Default Gauges - What's good to run for an Pro-AM car?

It's a lame question, I know. But what should I be running in terms of gauges? Here's what I'm thinking...

Tach
Oil Pressure
Fuel Pressure
A/F or EGT

Does that sound right? Do I need the A/F or EGT at all? Should I run any other gauges like Volts etc?

Just trying to button up my project list and ensure that I'm montioring the important stuff.

Thanks,
Steve

make sure you put the gauges where you can see them. if i got a dollar for every car that came in for dyno that had gauges in spots that you could never see going down the track, id have a lot of dollars hahaha

the gauges are just the standard 2inch and whatever. the tach i think its 5 and the boost is 3? i dont remember i got them a long time ago haha

I don't have a boost gauge, an egt gauge, an oil temp. gauge, an oil pressure gauge, a fuel pressure gauge or anything. lol I have a factory tach, a factory temp gauge, and a shift light!

For a strictly drag car? I would say tach, oil pressure (with a big oil pressure warning light), water temp (again with a 230 degree warning light) AFR, voltmeter, also EGT gauge if you know how to read one and you think it will help you. Oh, and fuel pressure gauge never hurts--mechanical one under the hood, and either a mechanical one on the hood or mech. with isolator on dash or straight electric in dash. Stuff like oil temp gauge isn't a necessity in drag car--road race car yes.

haha, cause you watch them all while you're going down the track, right?

haha yup every one of them! or none....i swear i dont even look at the tach half the time.

sometimes i'll take a peak at stuff im im questioning something....or peak at water temp on the return road. but realistically you sure as hell cant watch all the gauges in 9 seconds at 150+ hahaha

I don't think i've ever watched the tach during a race, and i hardly ever shift by the shift light. I shift when it feels right and i look at the temp after i shut down. That's it. lol

I used a tach. oil PSi, and warter temp to make sure the motor was up to temp before I made my pass. Your not going to look at them going down the track any how so why have them.

You don't need any gauges for the dyno, Terry....

Oh I know I'm not going to get to look at them and yes, this is a drag only car.

So tach, oil pressure with light, fuel pressure with light and water temp with light I think is all I'll need. Everything else will be logged from Hondata (at least I think so. ).

Ha, i wish, we can barely swing the M4. I can buy about 3 M4's for what an ADL costs. lol
