Ok this is my cousins car and she told me she turned the car on and put the car in gear and heard a crack. So now the car doesn't move but it turns on and goes in gear but when you hit the gas and try to drive the rpms just shoot up but the car doesnt move what could be wrong? Any help would be nice.

P.S. no bad clutch smell and gears never got stuck or grinded

could be throw out bearing or shift fork because obviously the clutch is not engaging.

 

i guess i just have to pull off the tranny

 

just to let ya'll know the pass axle was just a little popped out

The clutch is always engaged. If there was no fork or bearing the clutch would be engaged.

if the clutch was not disingaging, the car would just lurch forward and die whenever they tried to start it. it would not rev up.

Nobody knows what you mean. You don't understand the concept of how the clutch works.

You have to put force on the pressure plate to get the clutch to disengage.


And if you tried to put the car in gear, you would grind that **** like a ****.

 

it goes into gear and rpm goes up? well happened to me once, i broke my axels

 

dude ive gone through 3 trannys, 1 fork, and a clutch. no i am not a tranny expert, but when i lost my clutch the car would just rev when it was in gear, same story with my fork but hey maybe i didnt witness these things happen on my own car lol im never a dick to people on here when they newb out so i dont expect to be slammed for trying to help somebody out when im drunk at 3 in the morning and cant rationally explain the working of a clutch anyways ive broken 5 axles myself so yeah that does sound more like it. as for my breakdowns, im not hard on my car i just have bad luck.
