Default I'm a noob...wanted some clarification

Well, I really want to get into drag racing. But I'm a little worried. I want to practice my burnouts and launches before I go to the track so it's not wasted time. I have some really quiet backroads right by my house, and I want to practice on them. On slicks even if I put water down for a burnout, won't the car just grab because of the concrete pavement compared to the what's the surface at the track?

dont worry about burnouts for street tires... just go to the track and try different things... see what works best for you by examing your 60' times.

save it for the box. dont do it on the street.
the toll on parts will be a little easier in the burnout box.
