i had my ecu plugs cut out so i took it to a shop here in NJ called WIIRED if any NJ heads know about that

they wired it up for me and said i shouldnt throw any codes i drove it for a while then outta no where i got a code i checked it and it was 17 but my speedo still works but vtec doesnt engage my tach doesn't work and i know it wired up right

how can i fix this? is this a wiring prolem or is my VSS fucked?

 

Your VTEC isn't engaging but it's not throwing a CEL because of it?

 

nope only cel is 17

 

Is the VSS wire coming from the speed sensor to the ECU good? might want to check that for continuity with an Ohm meter.

it seems like all the weires are running from my ecu correctly, why would i be throwing code 17 and my speedo still works? the cel doesn't come on right away it comes on while i'm driving it'll just ramdomly pop up and stay there until i turn off my car. what could be the problem?
