Main Relay Experts HELP!!!!!
Ok, my 92 EG has had the typical main relay problem in the past and I solved it in the usual manner by resoldering.
Well the other night it pulled a typical "main relay problem" turn the ignition and no "click" and no hummm from the fuel pump. Car cranks fine. OK resolder again and still nothing. Jump terminal 1 and 7 and the pump primes so that's not the problem. Thinking it's still the main relay I verify if it's good in a friends car and sure enough it is.
Now my question...what would cause this problem if the Main relay is good and fuel pump is good.

I once had this problem in an EG hatch. Fussed over it for a week, thinking that it was the main relay..... turns out that the ECU had gone bad. All at once. Same exact problem as you're having. I put a different ECU in, and viola, the car started and ran on the first try.

how did you verify?
did you put your relay in the friends car or your friends relay in your car? i ask this because a bad relay will work one sec then not a sec later..
so if you put yours in your friends and it worked, your relay still could be bad.
also within the main relay you can have the fuel prime (work) but no spark aswell. that means some other part of the relay is bad. took me 3 months to figure this part out i thought it was my alarm not working.

whatever car you use to try out the ecu, try the relay too. Eliminate what your problem is.
BTW - any ECU will work for this, as long as you observe OBD rules. So at least you'll get the car to start with whatever ECU you find. (don't be dumb though and drive it with say a non-VTEC ecu if you have a b16 or something, but starting it up will be ok)

the main relays are all the same... try it and get back to me... DO NOT DO ANYTHING WITH THE ECU YET.. CHECK ALL THIS IN STAGES TO FIND THE PROBLEM....the ek's main relay is located the right most of the glove box right above the and around the "cell" reader plug... and the the main relay on the tegs is located in the same place as the eg's
for the ek's basically remove the passenger side kick panel, follow the ecu wiring to the top and you will see the main relay on the right side parrallel to the glove box all the way to the right...
unplug it and stick it in your car and see what happens and then let us know..

My relay fired up his car everytime...not even getting a second click on my ride. Didnt remove his relay to plug mine in as I just reached in with the glove box down to unplug his and plug mine in. Car was back at home so no need to pull his completely out then and there.
