Tein Flex height adjustment question
briefly searched, but threads had multible answers. Maybe the real answer has been found by now.
First of all, this is on a 2000 Civic Hatch
OK, so I am waiting to get my rear LCA replaced tomorrow, so we went ahead and swapped in the Flex's on the front of the car. The booklet recommends 12.4" from the hub to the fender, and currently it is about 11".
I thought this would be OK at first, but pulling into my neighborhood kroger, I shaved some of my tire off with my fender
So with that said, I need to raise the front of the car up.
I know how you can rotate the lower body, but when my friend was working on it, I saw him adjust the ride height while they were installed by just rotating the rings.
It has been debated that this method can damage something? That you are supposed to take the lower shock body out of the fork and rotate it like that?
Any educated comments?

I got it adjusted to Tein specs. 12.4 and 11.9 from the hub to the fender
it's about a finger gap front and rear
also put dampers to 12 front and back, actually rides a lot better than the suggested default setting of 8
