Overtorqued tranny drain bolt....drip, drip, drip
The crack goes from the bolt hole and goes back a few cm's. Do tranny's build up pressure at all or does the oil just sit in there?

I don't think the tightening of a transmission drain bolt is all that serious.. :-/ I dunno tho..</TD></TR></TABLE>
Most of the times it just takes the threads right out with the bolt. Which might happen next time you go to take the bolt out. Then you will either have to replace the tranny or the case. Both of which is expensive and takes time.
I have a hydro S20 5 speed I will sell you for 225.00 shipped. No grinds or anything. Perfect shape with 144k miles.

No i did not cross thread the threads i simply was being lazy and by not using my torque wrench i cracked the cheap *** honda transmission case.
And if i did crossthread it i would tap it and use an oversize drain plug so sorry don't need your tranny.

It just sits there.
I would drill it and gently rethread it and use a larger bolt. Then after doing so, flush the trans several times to get the aluminum shavings out of the trans, as the shavings magnet won't pick up the aluminum.
Then use some loctite + less tq to hold that new bolt in

Also I didn't say crossthreading them. That is another problem. Overtorqueing the bolt can break your threads too. I have seen it so I know it can happen.

I think you're confusing "cheap" with "not idiot proof".

So why don't you go ahead and do that anyway instead of being a lazy expletive and using JB weld? You can do it right or you can do it twice. Jesus.
