94 gsr Moonroof glass sucked right off at high speed!!!!
So Im doin 110 on the highway, my windows and moonroof are completely closed. No whistling nothing, its perfectly sealed and water tight. All of a sudden I hear a pop and i can hear the wind blowing above my head behind the moonroof visor!!! I quickly decelerate to 50. Open the visor and my moonroof glass is hangin on to dear life by the gasket. I freaked out and start pulling over as everyone behind me starts flashing their lights and honking their horn, (like I didn't know what the hell was goin on) By the time I pull over I realize its gone and nowhere to be found!!!
It was a hot Day in Florida at 1:00pm maybe 92 degrees. I never had any problems or suspicions the moonroof glass could ever do that. Does anyone know what the hell happened?
The track is perfectly fine and works good too. the only thing left is that black nasty gasket stuff Ive seen people use when installing a windshield on the moonroof frame. Does anyone know if this needs to be reported to some kind of safety agency or whoever? Do you think acura might fix this as a safety concern?

maybe the glue or watever they used to have the sunroof held on got bad since it heated up and melted and the speed you were goin the winds went crazy and took it off?!?!?

You better have been late for a tour of the playboy mansion to be going that fast.
2nd, since your car is a 94 you can be almost certain that the dealership wont help you out at all (unless there was some sort of recall)
Slow the hell down, and good luck finding replacement glass for it.

maybe its a hidden eject feature that no one knows about.

haha ... this happens more than you would think ... glue deteriorates and next thing you know the moonroof is gone ... I wouldn't worry though ... not that expensive to replace, and chances are with fresh glue it won't happen again ... o ya, maybe you wanna slow down a little too, huh?
So 110 is driving like an ***? Traffic was doin 90 and I only do it when i need to pass other cars. I dont like driving with the crowd and I was at 110 for 10 seconds or less. Doesnt anyone else go faster than 110? And since owning the car for almost 60 days this was the first time I have even gone past 100.
yea 110 is not that fast, i am surprised that would happen, good thing I only go fast at night when its cold

Don't worry man, alot of the same people that say speeding is wrong are only saying that so a few people won't bash them. I speed if I am the only one in the car. The only time I drive responsibly is when my wife and son are in the car. As for 110 being an ***, if your in a school zone, yes. On the interstate, no. I have don't more than that a few times. As for the sun roof, PM me when you get it replaced I would like to know how much it goes for. Knowing my luck, mine will fly off tonight when I go pick up the wife and baby at the air port.

Well I contacted Acura about this. They researched it and discovered I am the first person to report this incident. Whoever else out there who has had a simliar issue really should report this to them. Acura Customer Service #1-800-382-2238. They will ask you for your Vin number. Basically if there is an issue they will do something about it. Otherwise many other sunroof glasses will be flying off. (keep your distance from others).
