I have a 93 civic hb I was going to trade for a 92 Prelude SI it had keyless entry, not sure if it was factory but looked about the same timeline style (square and such) said he's had it ever since he bought it (second owner) But the 23 needed major work and had an exhuast leak couldn't give up the 35mpg car for a dieing h23 and auto to boot.

you could get one installed by the dealership but it was probably aftermarket.

Some actually did in Japan but not the states. I have seen a couple on ebay with relays and everything but they never have the ignition and key also. I don't want a seperate key to get in the car and then another to start it.

I'm pretty sure it didn't come with it from the factory. I have it on mine, it's tied in with my alarm.

it was probably a dealer-installed-accessory. you can buy the relay and power-lock box and add it, but it's kinda a pain in the ***.

My 93 Si VTEC has keyless entry/security. It was a dealer installed option. The equiptment is made by Alpine and is similar to the system used by early 90's bmw's. The remote only has one button on it. Hit it once (unlock), hit it again (lock), and hold (panic). Its pretty cool, even comes in a leather case. In 94-95 the remote was changed to a 2 button unit. The 96 remote is the same as the EK civic, BB6, and other late 90's hondas. Hope this helps.

mine has an alpine system in it too. my remote has four buttons. the large blue is lock, unlock, and panic and says "TX/PANIC". the others are small and black. they say "MODE", "EXT2/EXT3", and "EXT1/VALET". i have no idea what they do but i think when you push valet it mutes the car because normally the car will make dog sounding squealing noise when you lock it and unlock it.
