Default Need help OVERHEATING out of overflow bottle HELP QUICK.

Ok i have a 96 DX and the car runs fine, fan kicks on etc. It is idiling a little high, and after awhile it starts to bubble out of the overflow. I mean alot comes out, it fills up in minutes and then boils over. Is there a air bubble in the system? Anyone have this problem?

Rad. cap seems fine. How would that make it bubble over?

i would say thermostat. just because its not allowing the coolant to go into the engine.
but could be the cap too. if you dont have good pressure (bad cap) then it wouldnt suck the coolant in either.

If your rad cap and thermostat are good you could have a popped head gasket.

Check your spark plugs.

The spark plugs look really good actually, the rad. cap also looks fine. I dont think the head gasket is shot, its not blowing any smoke. Its reving high then low, high then low. Its a DX so i dont even know if there is a IAC, Fast idle, to adjust. This gay *** intake mani dosent seem to have those parts. Thats what its doing though, it sounds like the IAC is messed because of the reving issue, then it boils over into the overflow. Any more suggestions?

sounds like the only option you didn't try is the thermostat. go to autozone and buy one. easy install too.

Ya, thinking that its the thermo myself. When i got the car the ground was loose that is on the thermostat, and there was silicone around the housing, im guessing someone fucked with the thermostat. We will see tomorrow.

Ok heres what i got. I think i solved the bubbling over problem with a new rad cap, but the car is still idiling like ****. I let it run for like ten or fifteen mins. without the rad cap on and all the bubbles seem to be out, but it keeps on reving up and down. Its a DX mind you with that stupid *** intake manifold, so i do not know if it has a IAC or FITV. Does anybody know if or where they could be? Any more suggestions.

we've all encountered the lopy or hunting idle at some point in our lives I still to this day don't know EXACTLY how to fix that problem entirely.

But I have seen people clean the IACV, replace the IACV, check the FITV, check for vacuum leaks, etc. etc. etc. there's alot that has been covered b4...

If I were you i'd try to search for loping/hunting idles and see what other people have done.
