Default Wont turn over ?? Fuel Relay, Pump, What ???

I was driving down the mountain the other day and the prelude just died as I was running about 40mph. The tach dropped and it just died... and she would not restart in neutral while rolling.

I towed her home at the wonderful cost of $300.00.

She cranks just fine, just won't turn over ?? Today I plugged in the new fuel relay switch I purchased from the dealership. It still will not turn over ??? and now it doesn't just crank normal like, but it cranks ultra fast ??? What is that all about?

Tomorrow I am going to put a new fuel filter in... although I don't think that will be the problem.

So is there anything else I should consider being the problem before I consider a new fuel pump ???

93 VTEC Prelude w/ 145,000 ... well keep matenience and all, otherwise runs very good when I can get her to start.

What gave you the clue to check your fuel system?
Do you know if your timing belt is in good condition? Are you using the auto-tensioner that your motor came with?

The timing belt and the auto-tensioner where replaced at around 90k milesish.
So it is not the original auto-tensioner, but replaced w/ another auto-tensioner.

As far as the fuel system, it's just a guess really... It was running great, and then it just died... Like I stated before, it has juice, it cranks, just doesnt start...

I thought it seemed like it wasn't getting any fuel, but it could be something else i guess ??

If you cant hear the fuel pump turning on and there is no spark check out your main relay.

first have someone crank it for you and see if fuel is even coming up to the rail. then have someone crank to see if you have fire.

It doesn't turn over ... it just cranks... and it was only cranking really fast after I put the new fuel relay in there.... this morning I tried to start it and it did not crank ultra fast like it did immeadiately after the new fuel relay....

the metal bracket on the back of that fuel relay... does it have to grounded ??? right now it is plugged in but just hanging there... I could not get the old fuel relay out...
