What are the plans for you guys? Planning to sell it down the road?? Or the car will forever remain in your garage?? Having owed a FF (civic hybrid) for over 4 years now, i would want to try other things (FR, 4WD) but i have driven the ITR alot and i love the car!!! Just want to know the thoughts of ITR owners.
I am going to try to keep mine. I've been through a lot of **** with it and it is very personal to me. It may end up being a collector's item in a decade or two. It is basically the pinnacle of FF performance...the new CTR and ITR are not any better.
keep it for a good long time.

She is a keeper. With all the sweat and blood (literally) that I have put in the car I will certainly not let somebody else enjoy the fruit of my labor.
And I will defend her honor with ferocity ( that's for all the thieves out there).

The ITR is without question the greatest car I've ever owned and it would be exceptionally foolish and bring me great sorrow to get rid of it anytime soon! It's definitely a keeper!!!
Depends on the resale value when its paid off. If I can get $20,000 for it after my last payment, and I could get the 1998 $100,000 Porsche 911 400hp, twin turbo for around $40,000. hmmm......
Being such a car lover I'd like to experience many other cars, which I can't afford unless I sell the R. I don't foresee that happening anytime soon, but probably eventually. Just want to be realistic .. there are lots of other cars with character. Variety is the spice of life! I'd be interested to see what everyone's opinion is in five years .. I think you'd probably be surprised
Keeping it!!! I have test driven a lot of cars out there, some with much better quality, like BMW, but the raw edge and uniqueness of the Type R is hard to come by. I personally have not found the car I really would want to have without wanting the Type R back. I have noticed people who have sold the R have regretted it. If I could have my 98 Driver's Edition GTI back with modern VW quality, that would be ideal. I do miss the torque, but the R is here to stay unless stolen or damaged. Then I will have to suffer finding something else. For now, it gets "the good stuff". Mugen, etc.
By age 40, this is what I want in my garage. Nothing more, nothing less.
'87 Buick GNX 1 of 547
'00 ITR FBP (current car)
'97-'01 CW ITR (Canadian would be nice, this ITR will be ALL stock and mint)
'02 E46 M3 (any color except PY)
and of course two decent daily drivers for my wife and I.
I'm 27 now and I already have one of those cars. I've 13 years and about $120K to go. ITR is the pinnacle of FF performance by far, destined for collectible status.

There are VERY few cars (regardless of price) that I would give my Type R up for. Unfortunately, like many of you, I don't have the means to keep the ITR and purchase another great car simultaneously.
