Default how the hell do you clean the gauge cluster lense.

so i took off my gauge cluster and remove the lense to try to clean it. I use some windex, turns out that was a bad idea because it started developing spots, then i try some dish washing detergent and it makes it even worse. anybody know how i can fix this?

well the front lense has become very fuzzy and has alot of tiny scratches. i'm thinking about using some high grit sand paper to sand it out to clean it up do you think that would be ok?

looks like i may need to. each thing i try makes the lense progressively worse. First windex, then detergent, and 2000 grit sandpaper. I'm out of ideas.

Buy Meguiar's Plastix. I heard it works great with headlights.

Or spend $15 to buy a new one.

#16, $25. It's worth it, I replaced mine and it made it much easier to see.

wow i had the exact same problem u had. Use Windex and yes its a very big mistake if u do use it. Same results with bunch of ugly spots. I use plastic polish, not sure what brand it is because my sister got it from her school. Usually plastic polish has a small amount of grit that actually sands down the plastic. End results, looks like brand new to me.

yeah seriously. let that be a warning to you all, do not use windex on your gauge cluster lense.

0000 steel wool and a quick buff out if you want to try to salvage the old one and sell it.
