Which 19mm rear sway bar do you recommend?
I'm going to replace the 13mm rear sway bar on my 1998 Integra RS with a 19mm and use some type of reinforcement.
Are there any 19mm rear sway bars that do not require drilling new or larger holes for installation? I think that both the Beaks & BSQ kits requires drilling.
I have also decided against using the Comptech or ASR rear brace at this point in time because they both attract unwanted attention to my car. I'm trying to keep this car a sleeper and a flashy aluminum bar isn't easy to hide.
And for the type of driving I do both these bars are overkill IMO.
I also think the 22mm bar is a little large for my car unless I increase the front sway bar to 24mm(like the GSR & ITR), again this is my opinion and related to my car only.
Anyone use the Neuspeed 19mm bar? It seems pretty pricey but I think it comes w/ reinforcement & does not require drilling& it looks well made

I used the Neuspeed on my GSR for a couple years and have no complaints about it. The braces did their job. There's another company that makes a 19mm rear bar but I can't recall the name right now. I think it's Suspension Techniques. Might be a cheaper price. I think the BSQ kit only requires drilling an existing hole a little bigger if I am not mistaken, so it's not that bad. I use it right now on my GSR.
Hi Vitt1,
Just to make sure I understand...
1. You are using the Neuspeed 19mm sway bar
2. The bar comes with reinforcement plates
(I wasn't sure if your statement about the BSQ kit meant you were using it or if you were only commenting on it. It didn't make sense to me that you would need additional reinf. if the Neuspeed kit included it)
3. You are happy with the quality and performance offered from the Neuspeed bar
I looked at the ST rear sway bar but have heard quite a few people were not happy with the way it is connected to the car. I have also read negative feedback about the Progress Technology bar. I have not heard anything negative about the Neuspeed other than price. If the product is made well and works well I am willing to pay for it.

JohnQ, I used to have the Neuspeed bar on my GSR, and had it on for a couple years. Yes, it comes with some beefy reinforcement plates. I had no problems with it. I don't remember it requiring any drilling, but I think it required a little re-routing of the ABS sensors around the plates (It's been a long time since I had it, so I don't remember exactly).
I sold that bar along with the chassis braces since they were part of the same set up.
Now I have a 23mm ITR bar, and I use the BSQ reinforcement kit with it. Again, I have had no chassis tear problems with the BSQ and 23mm bar. But my springs and shocks are very stiff.
If your car is a DD and doesn't see autox or track use, then the 19mm is probably fine (with the smaller front bar).
Isn't the Progress technology bar a 22mm? They may have changed it to a smaller size, but I know they made a 22mm at one time... I never heard any complaints about it. And if I am not mistaken, it is also adjustable. The Neuspeed is adjustable, it uses those rod ends as endlinks. I thought the Progress has a different type of adjustment.
Regardless of what you put on your car, make sure you get reinforcement for the chassis. And if you go more than 19mm, your springs should be stiffer than stock because that can also contribute to chassis tear out.
