Default Test pipe questions

Anyone here have a shorty header with test pipe combo.. I know or from what i hear the RH is best way to go.. i just wanted to know what the potential gains are with this setup..

shorty header = nearly nothing
test pipe = 3-5 HP

actually a shorty header and testpipe is nearly as effective as a full RH. plus you can swap out the test pipe when it comes emissions time.

Race headers vary their output very much. You can get 10-15hp from some and some others, like custom headers can net you even more. I dont know how you think a shorty header (which offers nearly no gains) and a test pipe (merely removing/gutting the cat for no more than 5hp) will be close to a race header.

I say get a good cat and forget the test pipe. At most you will gain 5-10 HP from going to a test pipe and then you risk some heavy fines if caught with one. Or got RH and also possibly face fines. Personally I want to go fast, <U>legally</U>.
