Default A type r question...

I ve been seeing all over the place people with type r shells. Nothing but the shell of the car! Other than the vin # and no sun roof to tell you its an R, whats the big deal with a type r shell? Cant you technically get any shell of an dc2 and put all type r stuff into it? It would be the same thing. Is the shell actually lighter than say an LS or GSR shell? Someone explain please!

somebody correct me if im wrong

the dc2-r chassis has extra reinforements and some "thicker" sections compared to the others

if you want light, i suggest going for the rs if you can find it and reinforce it

someone will post the chassis diagram shortly

there are several little things all over the car that "tighten it up" per say.

just wait for the diagram

your question, was answered in the sticky FAQ, but theres really not a reason to bother looking in there since you have people spoon feeding you info.

and another reason is restoration........ some people enjoy restoring a collectors car from the ground up

with the way R's are dissappearing these days alot of folks just want to try and keep them around a lil longer

if you're trying to make an integra shell into type r, might as well start with itr shell

its not a R without the shell, cuz i mean if u take a non itr shell and just put a c5 into it, yea its considered a type R but technically its a GSR with a type R motor.

having the itr Shell completes it<3

Also don't all LS/GS GSR's have sunroof's. DC's never had an RS model with no sunroof. If you use a shell with a sunroof your chasis rigidity will be less and weight
will be more. Do everyone a favor and get out there and save a type r. You be happy in the end.
