hi my 90 civic that was an origanal dx that i converted to si is throwing a code 16 now i dont have a hanes manual or anything but ive heard that its either a o2 or fuel system problem, but the thing is that when i was driving it reguarly it would run great and i mean it would pull strong but then when i would just be crusing it would get a REALLY rich smell and die. and then it would not want to start up again untill i let it sit for a while. but today when i started it for the first time in a week it wouldnt run but when it did it had white smoke poring out of the exhaust and the only way it would stay running was to keep spraying starter fluid into the motor. im thinking mabey a leaky injector or mabey my head gausket is going out but im in no hurry to get this figured out ive got all winter, i just hate to think of my baby running like **** lol

any help would be appreciated.

i just think i figured it out awhile back my car over heated and i replaced the head gausket and the head but i think the o2 sensor got to hot and now isnt working proper, would a bad o2 sensor make the car not wanna start up after driving and would it also make the car just die sometimes??? i hope this is it.

 

Bad injector homeboy!! sounds like the injector opened up hard on its last ditch effort to stay alive causing it to run rich and then just finally give up on its quest to live...being the cause now for a no start.

 

you really think i have a bad injector ill cheack tomarrow i guess
