Default Highway RPMs and other banter

Howdy all, being on a recent search for a new car I've been seriously considering the Honda Si, I did have one question that I was unable to find elsewhere, and I did attempt to search this forum but figured perhaps first hand experienced users can tell me.

What RPM's are you hitting while cruising on the highway at 70 MPH in the Civic Si 06? This assumes you're in 6th.

Getting rid of my Buick will probably be the best thing that ever happened but I can't really beat it's 90MPH @ 3300RPM although it takes a while to get there

Also does anyone know of any resources to get a PDF format of the Si's owner's manual or even a repair manual? I'm not sure if that is something that is available or not. I know Nissan provides their manuals online but I haven't seen one for the Si without purchasing it through Honda.

Thanks in advance and I hope to see everyone around, especially if I'm out and about in a new Si in the coming months.

highway cruising RPM is probably around 3k, i honestly dont remember the exact number but its defianantly low... i'm use to GSR/Si trannies so o/d on the Si is wonderful. downshifting into 5th is only necessary on super steep hills.. otherwise its got the tq to pull up an incline.

Thanks for the info, when I first started to look for cars the Si was absolutely beautiful... I'm not sure if I want the 4 door though coming out this fall/winter. I hope to test drive one this weekend though, it seems that are dealer here in Albany, NY has one of each Civic trim, the Si with and without Nav and with and without Summer tires. Should be a fun weekend. I actually was looking at the RSX but was dissappointed that it was being discontinued, hopefully to make room for greater things though.

Thanks again for the information!

67MPH is EXACTLY 3000rpm....

While you wont reach 90mph at 3300rpm in the Si, your buick would only make it to 8500rpm once or twice before it gave up on life.

I honestly don't remember but I doubt that my Buick even has 8500 on the tach The most I ever see it hit was 6000 and that's when 'flooring' it. Thanks for the information though.

I just noticed Chevy has a Supercharged Cobalt but I'm not a big fan of their styling, but I'm not sure on it I never was a fan of the Cavalier/Cobalt families. I'm sure they do not have near the reliability of the Hondas.

My deal is, I can certainly appreciate the lower depreciation on a Honda rather than a Cobalt. It reminds me of a bug and my g/f doesn't like how they look, not to mention the fact that most people say they are ungodly uncomfortable. That's not what I'm looking for

The thought makes me cringe...

which is uncomfortable and reminds you of a bug? Cobalt or SI??

The SI is a comfortable ride to me. Its not luxury ride where you want to sleep in there, but it doesnt make your *** ache when you climb out after a couple hours.

The cobalt... I test drove an Accord V6 EX-L today, I think I fell in love... the guy disappointed me cause he didn't have an Si in stock, well he did but it was already sold. He stated that they get usually one a month in and that they are currently back ordered. Not to promising but that Accord with the leather was nice, and it had enough power to lay down past that Nissan I whooped during the test drive.

75mph=3500 rpms on the dot in mine.

i love the si. the only i dont like about the lsd is that if u have a flat, u have to rotate a regular sized tire to it and not just throw a spare on cuz it'll f*** up the lsd. im gonna be racing a cobalt ss tonight. i'll try to get it on video so we can see how close it is
