ehhh well..when I say 300 you'd have to find a supplier around your area, if you don't of one or there aren't any around you'd have to order online, which shipping will cost like around another 100. Go to visracing.com. And i'll try to find other sites..dont know them off the top of my head.
And also you might wanna try the marketplace here, and the sponsers as well. good luck

I believe seibon is a well established name, but i havent had any experience with them. i saw that sponser too, and it's not 560, it will be around 500 shipped, because of the 10% off. i say if u cant find anything better or cheaper go for it.

^Both of those are good but what I'd do if I was you, unless you seriously have a lot of cash and nothing to use it on (which most people don't), is to find the cheapest carbon fiber hood you can find as long as it fits pretty decently, has a UV protectant clearcoat, and isn't wavy or messed up or anything like that. People usually tell you not to buy cheaper carbon fiber hoods because of the chance of them ripping apart and flying open, but if you put hood pins on, which you should do to all carbon fiber hoods anyway no matter the quality, then there'll be no chance of that.

i dont mind paying 500 shipped for a qaulity hood. also, they are located about 45 min away from me so i could probably pick it up and save money on shipping. As for the hood pins you are talking about, would i have to cut into the acutal hood itself to make a hold for the pins? my CF hood right now is using the stock latch and seems to be holding up fine. do most people use hood pins for carbon fiber hoods? what are the chances of it flying open?

Not to thread hijack, but I've been wondering about this as well.

yes you have to dremel or drill and rotozip a portion to attach the hood pins onto the car. I don't know the terminology of the hoodpin pieces but imagine the actually "pin" needs to go through the hood so it can be secure...
sorry if i haven't explained it well

A lot of people do run without hood pins but it'll most likely flop around at higher speeds and especially if you ever reach 120+, it'll kind of wiggle around and look like it's about to open, and I've heard of stories where the top half of the hood rips off from the webbing and flies off or the hood just flies open in one piece. To put hood pins on you do have to drill through the hood.

Is this something doable by anyone, or is it better to have a shop do it?

You can do it yourself. Put a dab of white grease or something like that on the 'pole' part that'll be going through the hood, then gently close the hood down until it touches the 'poles' and leaves little white dots where you need to drill. Then drill very slow without pushing hard to avoid spider web cracks.

i had 2 VIS hoods for my integra..and oth had flaws...
one side was higher then the other...
it took me hours trying to adjust it....and its still not fitting proper...
VIS is OK i guess...thats if your looking to do a lot of test fitting to get it to fit proper...
SEIBON FTW!!!!

Are you sure it was genuine VIS? Did it have the VIS plaque underneath near the hood latch? A lot of people on ebay and internet sell CF hoods labeled as "VIS style" and they try to make it sound like real VIS when actually it's one of the cheaper ones.
