I will be getting my car repainted black next week and I was wondering whats the difference between Flat black and Black with Pearl?

 

Flat black usually means kind of a dull finish, like a "matte" finish of sorts... most people paint wheels this way, few cars are flat black. But some are, and sometimes it looks good...



Black with pearl is kinda vauge, but for example Flamenco Black Pearl is a nice shiney black, it looks more like this...

if youre getting it painted..please have some gloss with it..

 

Flat black looks flat. It isnt shiny.

A pearl black would be shiny with a color tinting it. It all depends on th color of pearl used.

what exactly are you looking for in the color? What do you want it to look like?

 

somthing sharp, just a nice black I guess. Shiney and black, I dont know how else to put it.

 

I think what he mean is regular black and a black with pearl in it, i dont think that he meant FLAT black!

My '92 Civic Si's paint was black pearl. Stock

When it had fresh wax and when the sun would hit it just right the car would look dark purple.

 

yea I didnt mean flat black, goes to show you how much I know about paint. But looking at your pictures I def like the black without the pearl in it, looks cleaner
