I'm considering painting my rims (rota slips). They are currently gunmetal with a polished lip. I want to paint the whole rim white and lose the polished lip. In all of the write ups I found none covered if there's anything I should do different since I'm painting both and don't want to mask it. Is there anything I should not do to the lip that I would do to the painted portion while prepping, for example, using aircraft remover? Should I sand it with a different grit sand paper than the painted portion? Stuff like that is what I am wondering.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am not sure about this, cause i have never done this but it seems like you should obviously sand the entire rim, expecially the polished part. I would look into some really good primers that would adhere to the polished lip. Otherwise i think everything is pretty much straight forward.
BTW - i think your DC would look really good white some all white slips.

Guess I'll give it a try.
I did a chop of my car a while back with some white regamaster evos and it looked good, so I figured I'd paint these since I'm currently poor and can't afford anything lol.
