Default Spring and Strut/Shock Set-Up

Ok, I've decided tat I am not going with a full Coilover System. I was looking into Buddy Club and D2 Fully Adjustable Coilovers but I really just want to finish the Car and go with something that does not cost as much but performs better then my H&R Race Springs and OEM Struts/Shocks . . . . New Springs and Adjustable Struts and Shocks.

Before I was thinking about going with Fully Adjustable Coilovers I was interested in matching my H&R Springs with KYB AGX's Struts/Shocks. Im sure there maybe something else I could work with and just wanted to know what are some other Set-Ups. I would want to be able to adjsut the Struts/Shocks to different Driving Conditions. I don't Auto-X or anything just basicly driving around town someimes hitting up some twisties in the Back Country so it doesnt need to be anything crazy.

I will also like to trade in my H&R Springs for something else. Right now I have the H&R Race Springs which drop the Car almost 2.5" all the way around. I do have some rubbing issues and would like to raise the Car up a tad bit.

So, what are some good Spring and Strut/Shock Set-Ups that would work best for me? My Budget for this will be under $500. Im thinking the Struts/Shocks will be more Money then the Springs but if I like the Struts/Shocks and the cost is up there I will consider keeping the H&R Springs.

Thanks,
Ant

Get koni sports and keep the H&Rs. Then later on down the road you can upgrade to GCs and you'll have the shocks that can handle them

I've actually decided to go with Omni Power Sport Coilovers. My Friend is a Dealer and is getting me an awesome price.

I've changed my mind . . .again! I've decided to go with the Function & Form Coilovers. For basically the same price I would pay for the Omni Power Sport Coilovers, I can pick up the Function & Form Coilovers and have the Dampening capabilitys that I wanted in the first place and still be right around my budget.

I have the Function & Form's right now, but personally if I was in your situation I'd keep the h&r's and get koni yellows.

Oh and you get a lifetime warranty with the koni's

I rather have a full Coilover though and the deal that Im getting on the Function & Form Coilovers is a little over the price of the Konis.

Always here to help. Its easy to get swayed by prices, names and packaging, but don't lose sight of what you are originally looking for: something for a street car.

A street car won't need very high rates for daily driving, it doesn't take very high rates to lower a car, and high rates generally will lead to a stiffer ride that may or may not be tolerable - do you feel like shelling out $600+ to find out?

$600 will get me what? I really wanted Dampening Adjustability but if i can get it and can get a good price, then Im down for a just a Coilover System. Yes, the Car is a Street Car but I do not mind stiff Suspension at all. Actually, I prefer it over anything else. Can you give me some more info one what the $600 I fork over to you will get me? I am VERY Interested.

$600 will not get you coilovers from PIC Performance's line. However my question was really meant to get you thinking about whether or not you feel like spending such a large amount of money only to find the ride too stiff and jarring. If you're accustomed to it or prefer it that way then I suppose its not a big deal.

Consider that the major purpose of damping adjustability is to tune the shocks to suit varyin road/track conditions (bumpy, rainy, gravelly), driving styles and/or setups (like adding/removing swaybars, using crappy tires, heavier/lighter wheels, etc), and not so much to affect ride quality. Although rebound adjustments will affect ride, it will only work within a narrow range as defined by the spring rates they are paired with. You may have a huge range of adjustability, but if you go overboard you risk overdamping, and with too little you risk underdamping - neither of which is good for ride quality. Selecting suitable rates is first and foremost the biggest determining factor in ride quality - the benfits of effective adjustable damping would be realized during track use.

Yea, Im just looking for a Coilover with Dampening Adjustability that is in my Price Range. I do not mind a stiffer Suspension at all so that is not up for conversation. I like FULL Controll of my Diving and I find that it is easier with a stiffer set-up. Right now, Function Form is exactly what I need. Full Coilovers with Dampening Adjustments and is right around my budget of $700.

$750 is cheap if you compare it to a high end suspension.

I love my functions, they're pretty stiff since I'm so low, butt still rides well. For the price I got they were worth it, but you already know what I'd do in your shoes.

If you have any specific questions either post them here or IM me
