Depends on what you want.

4-2-1 = better midrange, good for track/auto-x
4-1 = better top end, good for drag

Although those descriptions were correct a few years back. Newer custom designs of hybrid and high-end headers can benfit both the midrange and high end with minimal loss.

To truely unleash the potential power of the ITR motor, you Need a well designed header with at least a 60mm or a 2 1/2" collector. Next would be a High flow cat and then a 2 1/2" catback without any restrictions and a free flowing exhaust cannister.

Some noteable names:

Spoon
Toda
JDM
SMSP
Hytech
Type-1

Heres the link to the dyno testing: http://www.automotiveperformanceengi...om/header.html

Do your homework and your car will reward you with favorable results. AND of course, You get what you pay for...

Good luck,

A.

BTW, where are you located in NY? General location is all that I'm interested in... IM me is you are concerned.

Have you heard about R-Speed yet? It is a Club of Type R's that are from the Tri-state area. We meet at events like Auto-X's and track events. Do dinners, cruises and discuss mods. Lemme know if you are interested.

Will headers with a 2.5" collector bolt up to the stock cat with the addition of one of the flanges I've seen for sale? (like this for example: http://inlinefour.com/25incolflan.html)
