Default Turn Signal Fuse Blowing in EF, always happens when I click the signal lever...

I have an 88 crx dx, since this Saturday I have went through 3-10A fuses. All of which keep blowing while i'm driving and signal. As soon as the lever makes the "click" it usually blows. When i replace the fuse the signal will work fine for a few minutes, then pop again. Does this sound like a bad signaling lever? It's a cheap part I can pick up...just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem. No changes in my setup for the past two years...

I did.

It's called bad wiring.

Wanna know what I did? I had a remote starter installed when my car was automatic. I took it out once it was 5 speed (safety reasons) and the wiring was bad from leaving it in without the brain. I had to take out my dash, unwire my stupid remote starter, and fix all my other wiring going into my lights. I had to go as far as replace my relay as my original went bad from grounding out.

Take off the shield around your column and inspect your wires. Replace the relay with a known working one. Inspect under dash ground and light grounds on the car. Haynes is your friend, like it was mine.

Just happened out of the blue, i replaced the fuse again today and have only been using my signal to signal right. It seems like when I signal left the fuse blows. I'll have to check the bulbs/sockets today, and possibly pick up a new lever tomorrow at the yard. The wiring should be good, I've had my alarm installed for 2 years...and I think that is connected to the running lights to trigger them...

Thanks guys

Check the alarm wiring. It's what failed on mine and I was popping fuses left right and center. I could put a 30 amp in (10 amp normal) and hit the signal and it would fry it. If a wire becomes exposed from rubbing over the years it can make alot of hassle. Check the sockets for bad grounds/ruined wiring. Years of exposure creates wiring issues.
