Default H22 Block - Will Type S Pistons Work??

I had done enough research to realize that my H22 block is unable to have forged pistons installed due to the FRM sleeves. In that case for me to gain the extra horses from an all motor setup I would like to know if I am able to install Type S pistons from the JDM motor and get away with it. Please if anyone knows tell me because I had just ordered JE Pistons (high compression) and had my money refunded so that I can purchase the Type S pistons.

Mill the head slightly as well as long as the cams aren't too agressive...

I have heard that Mahle had a set of pistons that were coated and capable of working on these FRM sleeves. However there is another controversy between these pistons not keeping up in the long run. On Honda Hookup, someone had a set and in a short period they had pull the head to see slight scarring. Also I might mill the head since thats another cheap way to raise the compression. However would Type S pistons work?

Yes, Type-S Pistons will work in a stock block.. There are two different kind though.. Dunno the "exact" names that people call them.. But there's the "Standard Bore" and a "Over-Sized Bore" which I think is .25 over? Not sure though.. Still, make sure you get the correct ones you want/need this time...

Just search around the boards, you'll find what pistons will work with the stock block/FRM Sleeves.. Stock Pistons of course, Type-S, Mahle, and another one or two..

Jun/Cosworth is the other ones that work, and they cost an arm, leg and left nut.

type S pistons, or pistons w/ reduced friction coating of some kind will work. i feel safer using the typeS parts since they were designed from factory for the H22. i actually bought a set of four with rings and wrist pins and paid $132.06 shipped. lets see if i get them though. seems too good to be true, but they seller said they crashed their car and had never put the stuff in.
